Portfolio Requirement:

Applicants must submit a portfolio showcasing original creative work. The portfolio should include samples of original video productions as well as graphic design materials such as brochures, booklets, flyers, posters, social media graphics, or similar marketing and communications pieces. Submitted work should demonstrate creativity, technical proficiency, and experience across relevant multimedia and design platforms. Portfolios may be submitted as a PDF, digital portfolio, or website link. Related government samples a plus.

Summary Objective

The purpose of this position is to produce compelling visual content across digital platforms, including social media, graphic design, video production, post-editing and website maintenance. Must possess creative and technical capabilities with a passion for storytelling through visual media and a strong understanding of brand consistency.

This class works under the administrative supervision of the Director of Communications and reports major activities through conferences and reports.

Essential Functions

The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

  • Design and produce high-quality graphics for digital and print media (social media, websites, marketing materials, brochures, banners, presentations, etc.).
  • Plan, shoot, and edit engaging video content for campaigns, product promotions, internal communications, and events.
  • Collaborate with mayor, council, communications team members, economic development, public safety and other internal teams to create multimedia content aligned with strategic goals.
  • Edit and enhance videos using motion graphics, sound design, and color correction.
  • Manage multimedia assets and maintain an organized content library.
  • Stay up to date with the latest design trends, tools, and best practices across digital media.
  • Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and maintains a consistent visual identity.
  • Assist in concept development and content planning for multimedia campaigns.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia Arts, Film Production, Communications, or related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in multimedia content creation, including graphic design and video production.
  • Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or equivalent tools.
  • Excellent visual storytelling, typography, and layout skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Annual Salary: $70,269.79
