Overview
Lutron is seeking a Data Scientist Intern to join our collaborative team and contribute to high-impact projects. In this role, you will help design and deliver data-driven solutions that power smart lighting and shading systems. At Lutron, your interest in data science will grow through hands-on experience, practical skill-building, and collaboration with experienced data scientists in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities
Your internship at Lutron could offer you the opportunity to work on:
  • Communicating complex ideas across all levels of organization using clear data- visualizations techniques
  • Utilizing tools like Jupyter Notebooks, Python, R, and supporting libraries as well as querying and scripting tools
  • Communicating verbally & visually, connecting the dots, breaking down complex problems into simpler units
  • Driving active projects in partnership with cross-functional teams
  • Learning and applying newly adopted tools and technologies to enhance system performance, reliability, and scalability

Qualifications
We seek talented, success-minded people with the desire and ability to make things happen. Our baseline requirements are simple:
  • You are pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics or Statistics
  • Your cumulative GPA is at least 3.20
  • You are a rising junior, rising senior, or master's student at the start of the internship
  • You have broad interests in data science, engineering, and cross-functional collaboration
  • You are authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require Lutron to sponsor you for any work visa, such as an H-1B, either immediately or at any time in the future. Lutron does not offer work visa sponsorship for this position.
  • Willingness and aability to work on-site 5 days per week
