# Application Security Advisor / TrainerApply**Job#: 3045502****Job Description:**Application Security Advisor / Trainer**Location:** Atlanta, Georgia - Charlotte, NC - Richmond, VA - Orlando, FLRole OverviewWe are seeking an Application Security Advisor / Trainer. This role involves advising and supporting application development teams in interpreting and remediating application security findings. The position focuses on delivering enablement and training to help developers understand and fix common vulnerabilities, creating self-service documentation, and partnering with security and DevOps teams.Key Responsibilities* Advise and support application development teams on interpreting and remediating application security findings, including SAST, SCA, secrets, API, container, and infrastructure-as-code scanning.* Deliver enablement and training such as working sessions, office hours, and guides to help developers understand common vulnerability patterns (CWEs) and remediation steps.* Create and maintain self-service documentation, remediation playbooks, and training material.* Partner with security and DevOps teams to support pipeline security integration and vulnerability burndown.* Track remediation progress and assist teams in prioritizing work based on risk.Required QualificationsA Bachelor's degree is preferred; however, equivalent coursework, internships, certifications, or hands-on experience will be considered.**Experience:*** Foundational hands-on programming or coding experience in languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.* Understanding of core application security concepts like OWASP Top 10, secure coding, and common vulnerability classes (CWEs).* Familiarity with application security scanning concepts, including static analysis, software composition analysis, and secrets scanning.* Ability to explain technical security concepts clearly to developers through strong written and verbal communication.* Experience creating documentation or delivering training and enablement content.Preferred Qualifications* Exposure to CI/CD pipeline security integration.* Familiarity with container and cloud security scanning concepts.* Experience with vulnerability management workflows and ticketing systems.* Relevant coursework, internships, certifications, or personal projects in application or security engineering. *Everforth Apex is a world-class IT services company that serves thousands of clients across the globe.
