Job description

TITLE: Library Paraprofessional - 26/27

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Camdenton R-III School District is seeking an elementary school library paraprofessional to join our team.  A successful candidate will assist the teachers and students in the effective use of the media center as a learning resource.They will be responsible for facilitating student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills of individual students and creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment.  Creating a culture of "Everyone Learning Every Day".

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 60 hours college credit or completion of the Para-Pro Assessment Test
  • Pass all background checks and screenings.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Board Policy for Staff Conduct

REPORTS TO:  Library Media Specialist and Building Principal 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting students and teachers in locating, selecting, and utilizing print and digital resources.
  • Troubleshooting computers, printers, and supporting one-to-one device management.
  • Monitoring student behavior, promoting reading, and assisting with research projects.
  • Processing new materials, managing overdue notices, and creating library displays.
  • Checking materials in/out, shelving, repairing damaged books, and assisting with inventory management.
  • Ability to lift up to lbs (books/equipment), and stand, walk, or bend for extended periods.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • 186.5 days - 8.0 hrs / day  (does not include a 30 minute lunch)
  • Pay Range: Starting at $15.26 (plus credit for up to 7 years of relevant experience)

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy on  Evaluation of Support Staff.
