A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CHILDREN'S SUPERVISOR As a Children's Supervisor, you spend your day assisting in the supervision of employees and volunteers. You manage and maintain Children's collection of materials, and assist with budget and long-range planning. You conduct library tours, arrange school class visits, plan story time and crafts. Provide information on library programs. You collaborate with other library staff and local organizations to develop programs and services. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. This can include attending seminars and events to stay current with the latest developments and technologies. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support as needed. The city needs someone like you with great people skills in providing excellent customer service to all our customers, and finds genuine enjoyment in what you do!QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN CHILDREN'S SUPERVISOR Bachelor Degree in related field Preferred: Master's Degree in Library Science from an institution accredited by the American Library Association Additional education and experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted for the above requirements Requires one (1) with library experience in Children's areaPreferred: Three (3) years' experience in related field Three (3) years of supervisory experienceMust have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record.Applicant must take and pass a pre-employment drug test administered by the City of Edinburg at the City's expense.Bilingual English/Spanish required.Are you someone who can handle multiple tasks?
