Library Student Assistant
Cataloging, Acquisitions, Circulation and Periodicals
Job Description: To assist the department Supervisor in daily operations.
Pay Rate: $16.90/hr.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Answering multiple phone lines.
  2. Checking books in and out.
  3. Directing patrons to appropriate locations for help.
  4. Charging and collecting overdue fees.
  5. Issuing Library Cards.
  6. Attending copy machine, adding paper, and clearing jams. Including answering general questions.
  7. Printing, and mailing library materials, notices, etc.
  8. Treating, shelving, and shifting books, including stack checking and organizing.
  9. Cataloging, Acquisitions, Periodicals processing
  10. Miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.
  11. Opening and closing procedures between the hours of 8am and 12pm PST.

EDUCATION: Must currently be a student of La Sierra University.
EXPERIENCE: Non required, site training is standard procedure.
SKILLS: Accuracy and the ability to work independently as well as in group teams.
PHYSICAL / MENTAL DEMANDS: Light to moderate, including lifting, bending, and kneeling.
HOURS: Flexible Part time.
PERIOD OF AGREEMENT: Fall quarter with possibility of extension to following quarter.
