The UI Designer is responsible for creating intuitive, visually compelling, and highly usable digital experiences across web and mobile applications. Working closely with UX Designers, Product Managers, Product Owners, and development teams, this role transforms user research, workflows, interaction models, and wireframes into polished visual designs and interactive prototypes that align with established design systems, accessibility standards, and brand guidelines.
The UI Designer plays a critical role in bringing product experiences to life by creating high-fidelity screen designs, maintaining design system standards, and ensuring consistency across applications and platforms. This role partners closely with UX Designers, who lead research and experience definition, to produce detailed visual solutions that are ready for development and implementation.
The ideal candidate combines strong visual design skills with a solid understanding of UX principles, accessibility, and responsive design. The successful candidate will be passionate about craftsmanship, attention to detail, and creating elegant user interfaces that balance user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints.
What You Will Do
  • Collaborate closely with UX Designers to translate research findings, user flows, wireframes, and interaction models into polished visual designs.
  • Create high-fidelity mockups, screen designs, and interactive prototypes for web and mobile applications using Figma.
  • Apply and maintain design system standards, ensuring consistency across products, platforms, and development teams.
  • Design responsive user interfaces that provide seamless experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
  • Create and maintain reusable UI components, patterns, templates, and documentation within the design system.
  • Develop detailed design specifications and implementation guidance for development teams.
  • Partner with Scrum teams throughout the development lifecycle to ensure designs are accurately implemented and meet quality standards.
  • Create visual assets, layouts, interaction states, and user interface components that align with business requirements and brand standards.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, UX Designers, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver user-centered solutions.
  • Participate in product discovery sessions, design reviews, usability testing, and stakeholder feedback sessions.
  • Advocate for accessibility, visual consistency, and best practices in interface design.
  • Contribute to the evolution and governance of enterprise design systems and component libraries.
  • Review implemented solutions and recommend refinements to improve usability, consistency, and visual quality.
  • Stay current with UI design trends, emerging technologies, accessibility standards, and industry best practices.

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in UI design, visual design, responsive design, and digital product design for web and mobile applications.
  • Expert proficiency with Figma and modern design and prototyping tools.
  • Strong understanding of typography, color theory, layout, spacing, visual hierarchy, iconography, and interface design principles.
  • Experience designing and maintaining scalable design systems, component libraries, and style guides.
  • Ability to transform UX concepts, wireframes, and workflows into polished, production-ready visual designs.
  • Solid understanding of UX principles, interaction design, usability standards, and user-centered design methodologies.
  • Experience designing responsive interfaces across desktop and mobile platforms.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design best practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to design quality and consistency.
  • Experience collaborating closely with software engineers and translating designs into development-ready specifications.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum software development methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills and willingness to provide and receive constructive feedback.

Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Graphic Design, Visual Design, Digital Design, User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Digital Media, or a related field required.

Experience Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in UI design, visual design, digital product design, or a related discipline required.
  • Demonstrated experience creating high-fidelity web and mobile application designs from user flows, wireframes, and UX requirements required.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and scaling enterprise design systems and component libraries required.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing visual design excellence, interface design, responsive design, and design system work required.
  • Experience working closely with software development teams and providing detailed design specifications required.
  • Experience creating interactive prototypes and validating designs through user and stakeholder feedback required.
  • Experience with responsive design and accessibility standards (WCAG) required.
  • Experience working within Agile product development environments required.
  • Understanding of UX research, usability testing, and user-centered design processes preferred.
  • Experience in financial services, insurance, healthcare, or other regulated industries preferred.

The estimated salary range for this position is $115,000USD to $120,000USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
