The Defense Sector, Decision Advantage Business Area at Leidos is thrilled to offer a unique opportunity for a system administrator to join our ALMSS team to support a critical Air Force logistics system. As the prime contractor, Leidos will provide direct support to the Air Force Software Maintenance Group which serves as the Air Logistics Center single organic Source of Mission Critical Computer Resources (MCCR) and Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) software for all assigned prime system and equipment for all echelons of maintenance required.

This position 75% remote but will require travel to the customer site on Warner Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robin GA. Candidates located in the Warner Robins Georgia area will be considered as preferred candidates due to the travel to the customer site.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The position is to provide system administration expertise on the ALMSS System working with a team of C# developers who are modernizing a legacy Supply Chain Management (SCM) solution that has been in operation since 1987 supporting United States Air Force (USAF) weapon systems.
  • Primary duties will provide IBM I OS V7R5/S914 system administration (end user support, security monitoring, database administration, configuration, software enhancements, program fix / patch processes and manage backup/recovery procedures) on development and production servers. Analyze, troubleshoot and evaluate computer network problems to resolve production & development server connectivity issues. Analyze server error logs and report potential problems, engaging necessary parties for resolution. Monitor server activity logs and make recommendations to improve server performance and availability.
  • Monitor security posture of servers to conform to AFNET requirements. Maintain and manage platform related documentation per AFMC requirements. Ensure the production server security posture is current and all web interface certificates meet AFNET criteria. Maintain accurate network policies with remote users network interfaces information and update necessary reference documentation.
  • Ability to utilize IBM i S914 HMC (Hardware Management Console) to manage server configuration.
  • Proficiency with utilizing IBM Navigator for I, IBM I Access Client Solutions, IBM DCM (Digital Certificate Mgmt).

Participate in the Comptia Continuing Education program to maintain Security+ skill level.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree with 8 years of prior relevant experience.or Masters degree with 6 years of related experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and active DoD secret security clearance.
  • Security+ certification.
  • Familiarity with DLMS schemas used in logistics systems.
  • Background with Department of Defense (DoD) acronyms pertaining to supply systems.
  • Experience with DoD and/or USAF policies and procedures pertaining to logistics operations.
  • Experience with Integrated Logistics System-Supply (ILS-S) base supply ordering, receiving, storage and issues processes and procedures.
  • Experience with USAF spare parts procurement and acquisition processes and methodologies.
  • Prior experience with interface partners and external systems that interact with a base supply operation and general knowledge of the types of transactions shared between those systems.
  • Proven ability to communicate with both software developers in technical terms and customers in layman's terms with ease.
  • Ability to create and deliver oral presentations to customers describing functionality of user interface screens and describe ad-hoc query capabilities pertaining to logistics.
  • Proven ability to advise government customers in meetings and working groups where external interface partners are requesting information from the logistics system you are supporting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates living in the Warner Robins Georgia area.
  • Experience with testing logistics software, especially withing DoD environments.
  • Experience with USAF Air Logistics Center (ALC) depot supply ordering, receiving, storage and issues processes and procedures.
  • Familiarity with MILSTRIP formats used in logistics systems.
  • Familiarity with the key process areas government auditors evaluate when auditing logistics systems for existence and completeness of inventories.
  • Must demonstrate reliability, strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to multitask and follow up on action items and requests in a timely manner.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Focus on providing quality support and accurate information.
