As aForkliftOperatorwith Liberty Packaging,you will contribute to the growth of our business bybeing a key playerinsafelymoving goodsand materialsaround ahigh traffic industrial environment.Asa Forklift Operatoryouwill helpmaximizeefficiencyof the production process by safely operating mobile equipment to move product, accurately scanning inventory in and out of the business,operating shrink wrap machines,and preparingshipments for transportation.
This full-time position reports directly toaProduction Supervisorandislocated atour Rock Island, Illinoismanufacturing facility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely operate mobile equipment such asforklifts, lift trucks, hoists, or other material handling equipment in a high traffic industrial environment.
- Accurately utilize an electronic scanning system to include a touch screen monitor located on the forklift, to track inventory levels and product location.
- Responsible for regularly completing pre-operation inspection and reporting equipment faults or damages to leadership or maintenance.
- Prepareshipments for transport,consolidatepartial pallets,andoperatethe shrink wrap machineas needed.
- Move product and/or materials throughout the facility,includingloading and unloading trailers.
- Follow safety regulations and company guidelines.
- Other duties,as assigned.
REQUIREDEDUCATION,EXPERIENCEAND SKILLS
- High School diploma orGEDequivalentfrom an accredited institutionAND1+ yearexperience operating mobile equipmentor comparable experiencein place of education.
- Previous experience withcomputerskills such as typing, printing,and data entry.
- Previous experience applying math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Previous experience reading, following,and/orcompleting detailed work instructions.
- Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of distribution documentation: pick lists, packing slips, and bills of lading.
- Knowledgeof warehouseorganization,workflowas well as basic inventory control(I.e.: Amtech).
- Previous experience with reading a tape measure.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The starting pay rate for this position is$21.00per hourplus hourly shift differential pay.The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location.Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.
