Pay: $25.00 per hour | Weekly Pay

Schedule: MondayThursday | After-School Hours
Hours: Approximately 610 hours per week
Employment Type: Part-Time | Temporary

Make a Difference Through Education

Openwork is hiring a Part-Time Academic Coach / Tutor to provide academic support and mentoring to youth and young adults ages 1425 who are currently in foster care or have aged out of the foster care system.

This is a meaningful opportunity for someone with tutoring, mentoring, education, or youth-development experience who wants to help students strengthen their academic skills, confidence, and independence.

Candidates must be available MondayThursday during after-school hours and willing to travel throughout Liberty County and surrounding areas.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring
  • Assist with homework, assignments, and test preparation
  • Support students in math, science, language arts, and other academic subjects
  • Help students develop study, organization, and time-management skills
  • Provide academic coaching in person, virtually, or through a hybrid format
  • Travel to tutoring locations throughout Liberty County and surrounding areas
  • Track student attendance and academic progress
  • Complete required documentation accurately and on time
  • Participate in training, team meetings, and program events as needed
  • Provide positive, professional support while maintaining appropriate boundaries
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; some college coursework may be considered
  • Previous experience in tutoring, education, mentoring, coaching, or working with youth ages 14 and older
  • Strong knowledge of math, science, and language arts
  • Availability MondayThursday during after-school hours
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout Liberty County and surrounding areas
  • Valid driver's license and current auto insurance
  • Access to a personal computer
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Teams and virtual communication tools
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, dependable, encouraging, and committed to helping students succeed
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and complete required documentation

Assignment Details
