# Associate / Vice President, Credit OpportunitiesIndustrial Opportunity PartnersAssociate / Vice PresidentPrivate CreditOn-siteLocationEvanston, United StatesCompensationCompetitive, depending on experience; title (Associate or VP) calibrated to the candidateDate PostedAugust 6, 2026RegionAmericasStay ahead of the marketGet instant notifications when new job openings matching "Private Credit / Associate / Vice President jobs in Evanston, United States" are published.## About This Role**Role overview**Industrial Opportunity Partners (IOP), a Chicago-area private equity firm investing out of its fourth fund in middle-market manufacturing and distribution businesses, is adding an Investment Team professional at the Associate or Vice President level focused on its Credit Opportunities strategy.**Key responsibilities**- Screen, source and evaluate borrowers and credit facilities, including capital structure, covenant and intercreditor analysis, and recovery/waterfall modeling- Underwrite new transactions across both credit opportunity and traditional buyout deal flow- Build and manage financial models; conduct business and industry diligence to underwrite opportunities- Support debt financing for buyouts (lender outreach, diligence, underwriting)- Attend management presentations and lender meetings; coordinate with counsel, advisors, and restructuring professionals- Participate in portfolio company management, attend board meetings, and track KPIs throughout the ownership process**Qualifications**- 3-6 years of experience across special situations/distressed investing, restructuring advisory, leveraged finance, private credit, M&A investment banking, or private equity- Familiarity with capital structures and credit documentation (credit agreements, intercreditor and security documents) and out-of-court workouts / Chapter 11 mechanics- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and recovery/waterfall analysis skills for both equity and credit investments- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship**Compensation & location**Based in Evanston, Illinois (~10 miles north of downtown Chicago). Compensation is competitive and depends on experience, with the final title (Associate or Vice President) calibrated to the candidate's background.
