Job description

Labor Solutions is seeking Quality Inspector for the Glendale Heights are. Please do not miss this great opportunity!


Hours: 2nd Shift – 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM. Must be flexible to work overtime and Saturdays as needed.


Pay: $DOE $20.00–$23.00 per hour and wage increase upon conversion to a permanent employee

Working overtime and Saturdays may be required

 

Responsibilities:

  • Inspection & Testing: Perform rigorous quality inspections on metal fabrication equipment and processes, including laser cutting, turret punching, grinding, spot-welding, welding, hardware insertion, press brake operations, and final assemblies (Set-Ups, In-Process, Incoming, and Final).
  • Advanced Technology Operation: Operate the Virtek flat blank scanner by running existing ICS programs and saving results (ability to create ICS programs is a strong plus).
  • Paint & Coating Quality: Conduct powder paint inspections, including gloss readings, impact testing, cross-hatch adhesion tests, paint thickness checks, and spectrophotometer use.
  • Receiving & Non-Conforming Material: Perform receiving inspections on products from outside services. Manage non-conforming materials by ensuring proper identification, physical containment, and accurate documentation within our ERP system.
  • ERP Transactions: Comfortably navigate and transact within ERP systems, specifically Global Shop.
  • ISO Audits: Assist in performing ISO internal audits, with a particular focus on product and process audits as needed.


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required; additional technical training is strongly preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in quality inspection within sheet metal fabrication or a related field (candidates with 2 to 3 years of experience and a strong foundational understanding of quality principles will also be considered).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
    • Advanced knowledge and hands-on use of precision measuring tools and equipment.
