Location: San Antonio, TX

Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift Schedule | 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Schedule: Four Days On / Three Days Off, Including Weekends

Salary Range: $20.00/hr+ depending on expereince

Job Summary

MS Companies is supporting a manufacturing customer in the search for a Quality Inspector in San Antonio, TX. This hands-on position works in a climate-controlled quality lab and performs visual and dimensional inspections to confirm components and finished parts meet drawings, specifications, and established quality requirements. The Quality Inspector uses precision measurement equipment, records inspection results, and documents nonconforming conditions according to company procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection instructions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to properly use micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicating micrometers, optical comparators, coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), vision systems, templates, and fixtures.
  • Ability to perform accurate visual and dimensional inspections and recognize conditions that do not meet requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, count, and complete inspection documentation accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, reliability, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous quality inspection experience in a manufacturing or precision-production environment.
  • SharePoint experience is preferred.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Inspect components, gauges, and finished parts according to approved instructions, engineering drawings, and specification sheets.
  • Measure part dimensions using the appropriate precision instruments, templates, and fixtures to verify conformance to requirements.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections required for process qualification.
  • Record inspection results clearly and complete process route cards, nonconformance reports, tags, and other required documentation.
  • Identify discrepancies and communicate inspection concerns promptly so the appropriate follow-up action can be taken.
  • Use SharePoint to search for, retrieve, and reference current control plans, blueprints, and gauge drawings during daily inspection activities.
Physical and Environment Requirements
  • Lift and carry up to 35 pounds and stand or sit for periods of up to eight hours.
  • Use the hands repetitively and maintain the visual ability and hand-eye coordination needed to perform inspections.
  • Work indoors in a manufacturing environment that may include heat, cold, occasional loud noise, dust, and chemical exposure.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all posted safety procedures.
  • Some production areas contain equipment that generates electromagnetic fields. Employees with an implanted medical device or another related medical concern should notify the designated safety or occupational-health contact so applicable safety requirements or reasonable accommodations can be reviewed.
