Job description

Job Summary:
The Fountain Group is a company seeking a Principal Software Quality Engineer to support software verification and validation of medical devices. The role involves working independently on complex software project activities, including analyzing requirements and maintaining software specifications.
Responsibilities:
• Perform highly complex and specialized level software project activities in areas such as Development, Tools, Test, Requirements and/or related areas.
• Analyze requirements, plan and schedule data, and update and maintain different software specifications based on analysis of specifications, needs and improvements.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and maintain software, test, or tool designs, cases, scripts, procedures, and/or code based on strategic analysis.
• Apply theoretical engineering principles, evaluation, ingenuity and creative/analytical techniques typically acquired in a recognized four-year or more academic course of specialized study.
• Apply engineering and scientific principles to the evaluation and solution of technical problems in a creative manner unique to each study.
• Exercise level appropriate technical judgment in planning, organizing, performing, and/or coordinating engineering work.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Required Bachelors Degree
• Software Verification/Validation of Med Devices
• understanding of SDLC
• IEC 62304 Required
• ISO 14971 Needed
• Working independently under limited supervision
• performs highly complex and specialized level software project activities
• analyzing requirements
• planning and scheduling data
• updating and maintaining different software specifications
• troubleshooting, debugging, and maintaining of software, test, or tool designs, cases, scripts, procedures, and/or code
• application of theoretical engineering principles
• evaluation, ingenuity and creative/analytical techniques
• Applies engineering and scientific principles to the evaluation and solution of technical problems
• Exercises level appropriate technical judgment in planning, organizing, performing, and/or coordinating engineering work
Preferred:
• JIRA or other bug tracking tools would be great
