Raba Kistner is seeking an organized, dependable Certified Welding Inspector – NDT Level II to join our team in Austin, TX. Responsible for inspections of structural steel, carbon steel piping fit-up, and welding. The Certified Welding Inspector – NDT Level II will also perform nondestructive evaluations, such as magnetic particle and ultrasonic testing. Other responsibilities include:

  • Serve as consultant in area of expertise (structural steel, pipeline, pressure vessel, and reinforcing steel).
  • Prepare inspection reports and other client required letters using RK format.
  • Maintain close contact with all clients during the entire duration of projects.
  • Notify Leader of potential group involvement in legal matters.
  • Work with legal counsel as required and directed.
  • Position will require traversing uneven construction sites, climbing ladders, performing inspections from a bucket lift, performing inspections from scaffolds, and working outdoors in hot, cold, and windy conditions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years steel inspection/welding experience.
  • Must be certified by the American Welding Society as a Certified Welding Inspector (AWS QC1).
  • Must be certified by the American Society of Nondestructive Testing as NDT Level II or higher in both ultrasonic and magnetic particle testing.
  • Possess valid Texas driver’s license and meet company’s auto insurability requirements.

Organizational skills to utilize company resources efficiently and effectively. Management skills to supervise project teams and evaluate progress of projects. Good oral and written communications skills and ability to work with clients and staff within the organization. Intermediate in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Must be self-motivated with good attendance record and be able to work independently. Able to drive company vehicle, manage and complete all assigned jobs efficiently and on time.

Frequently required to work in outdoor weather conditions (exposure to outdoor heat, cold or inclement weather). The noise level for this position is Loud (metal can manufacturing department, large equipment, etc.)

This position may require protracted or irregular hours. Flexibility to work irregular hours is necessary due to client needs.
