For over 30 years the Metro Star Property Management has been regarded as one of Connecticut’s leading developers of upscale residential and commercial properties. With a growing portfolio of apartments in Milford, New Haven and Branford, Metro Star is now seeking Maintenance Technicians to join the team.

Metro Star is actively seeking an experienced, hands-on Level 2 Maintenance Technician to join our high-performing team. This role is vital to maintaining the superior standards of our properties and supporting the comfort and satisfaction of our tenants.

As a Level 2 Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all physical aspects of the properties are functional, safe, and maintained in accordance with company standards and regulatory guidelines. You will also be responsible for contributing to the performance of the team as a whole and setting the tone for professional excellence in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quickly respond to maintenance requests and complete repairs like fixing HVAC systems, plumbing, appliances, carpentry, and more.
  • Help the maintenance team with regular preventative care of building systems.
  • Use a digital system to track work and update tasks with time and notes.
  • Work with the team to make sure the property looks clean and well cared for.
  • Help take care of the outside areas, including small landscaping jobs, trash removal, cleaning, and snow removal when needed.
  • Follow all safety rules, building codes, and company policies.
  • Be polite, respectful, and helpful when working with residents.
  • Offer help and advice to other maintenance team members when needed.
  • Be part of an on-call rotation for emergency repairs and sometimes work evenings or weekends with overtime pay when applicable.
  • Help get apartments ready for new residents by painting, patching walls, checking appliances, and making sure everything functions properly.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on property maintenance experience (residential or commercial)
  • General knowledge in all major building systems and repairs
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders or in varying outdoor conditions
  • A clean professional appearance
