Job description

POSITION TITLE: Aquatic Center Education Coordinator
SALARY: No less than $19.28 per hour
 


REPORTS TO: Aquatic Center Coordinator 

DESCRIPTION: Hours may vary, primarily evenings during the school year and mornings during the summer. 10-15 hours per week. 


QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Have a high school diploma/GED.
  2. Minimum of five (5) years of experience teaching swim classes.
  3. Possess at least one current related certification Red Cross Lifeguard or Water Safety Instructor, USA Swimming Coach, etc.
  4. Possess excellent communication skills.
  5. Have good working knowledge of Outlook, Chrome, Word, Excel, or equivalent programs.


ESSSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Train and guide swim lesson, water baby, pre-competitive, and aerobics instructors.
  2. Provide instructor in-services.
  3. Review and construct curricula for swim lessons, water babies, pre-competitive, and water aerobics as needed.
  4. Supervise aquatic educational classes.
  5. Create student rosters for each class.
  6. Communicate with parents and students effectively.
  7. Along with the facility safety team, ensure water safety during classes.

OTHER PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Set up and tear down for each class.
  2. Maintain and update the swim lesson bulletin board.
  3. Assist with scheduling instructors to teach classes.
  4. Assist in the scheduling of aquatic classes.
  5. Review seasonal publication of class descriptions.
