RESPIRATORY LAB INSTRUCTOR — JOB DESCRIPTION.
Charter College | Sandy, UT | Part-Time.

Position Overview:
Responsible for all laboratory instruction of students in applicable respiratory courses in accordance with Charter College policies, procedures, and requirements. This position reports to the Program Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Instruction & Curriculum:
  • Provide all laboratory and clinical instruction per the required respiratory curriculum.
  • Follow current course outlines, objectives, and evaluation methods, or develop them as directed by the Program Manager.
  • Maintain a daily lesson plan.
  • Substitute in classes when necessary.
  • Ensure students follow catalog guidelines daily.
Student Support & Retention:
  • Assist the online instructor in student retention efforts.
  • Encourage and maintain participation of all students on your roster.
  • Promptly identify and assist "at-risk" students, referring them for appropriate support.
  • Provide educational assistance during scheduled office hours or by appointment.
  • Advise students on school policies and satisfactory academic performance.
Administrative:
  • Grade clinical assignments and lab participation and return feedback to students in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with the online instructor to submit final grades.
  • Monitor and document student attendance and retention as required.
  • Communicate with the Lead Instructor, Program Manager, and Student Academic Advisor on all student-related matters.
  • Submit supply and equipment needs in writing to the Lead Instructor or Program Manager.
  • Monitor equipment and supply inventory in secured facilities.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings and serve on assigned committees.
Professional Development:
  • Maintain professional expertise through seminars, current literature, and online courses to meet accreditation standards.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
Job Qualifications and Skills:
  • Graduated from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the Respiratory field.
  • Must hold RRT credentials and be licensed in the state where you work.
  • Minimum of an Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Preceptor experience preferred but not required.
  • Teaching experience and curriculum development preferred but not required.
  • If selected to teach an externship class, must be able to pass an annual driving record check and possess valid car insurance.
Compensation:
  • Hourly Non-Exempt — Part Time.
  • $30.00/hr.
  • Compensation dependent on experience, knowledge, and education level.
