Job description

G Force Gymnastics Academy is located on 4487 Irving Blvd NW, Albuquerque NM 87114. Are you #GForceFierce? We are always on the lookout for Fierce new talent to add to our excellent staff. Our GEM Star program is an instructional gymnastics program that covers Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced gymnastics skills for participants from 6yrs-18yrs old. Our world class curriculum is easy to follow and prepares the gymnasts to join our competitive team program. G-Force is home to a strong XCEL and USAG (JO) competitive program. We are not currently hiring for team coaches but do promote internally from the GEM Star program staff when openings become available.

The GEM Star program focuses on engaging participants with various drills designed to help them reach their full athletic potential while having fun. GEM Star coaches are cross trained to coach our Preschool program and Tumbling classes, but the permanent GEM Star schedule remains the same. We do close for unpaid holiday breaks throughout the year including full weeks for spring, summer, and winter breaks.

All GEM Star coach positions are part time. Please note you must be available year round for all days/times listed below. Other schedules may become available in the future, and you can often pick up extra shifts when available. Exact schedule times may vary depending on which event you are scheduled to coach, but are within these ranges:

  • Monday and Wednesday from 3:45pm-8:45pm, and Saturday from 8:45am-12:45pm

While we do provide on the job training for coaches, some basic requirements for coach applicants are:

  • Customer service mindset and communication skills 
  • Physical capability to lift up to 40lbs repeatedly
  • Confidence in leading large groups of children
  • Love of education and competitive sports
  • Ability to interact with people of diverse backgrounds, personalities, and ages
  • Be at least 16yrs of age with reliable transportation
  • Availability to work their set schedule year round

Coaching Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in a positive manner to athletes based on the G-Force Gymnastics lesson plan outlines
  • Create a fun learning environment for class participants at varied levels of comprehension and ability so they can reach their full athletic potential
  • Ensuring equipment is safe and ready to use before an athlete uses it

Qualifications

  • Our ideal candidate is engaged, high energy, punctual, and professional
  • Gymnastics knowledge and/or experience a plus but not required
  • Coaching and/or teaching experience a plus but not required
