Job description

LEGO Digital Play will bring the LEGO brand into digital entertainment in new, innovative, and wholly-owned ways. Our mission is to ensure the LEGO Brand remains as powerfully a part of children’s lives in the coming decades as it has ever been. We aim to reach every kid on the planet, their parents, and adult fans of LEGO—and provide them with meaningful, magical, and playful new experiences.

We are at the earliest phases of this new company, offering a unique opportunity to build a new entity for the world\'s most beloved and trusted brand. Our culture is open, collaborative, intellectually rigorous, and creatively vibrant.

Role Summary

We are seeking a Director of Product Management to shape the roadmap and priorities for a consumer-facing, living application that is a key component of a broader initiative under development at LEGO Digital Play. In this role, you will own the direction, feature definition, roadmap, and P&L of the application.

You will work closely with game designers, software engineers, art directors, legal and marketers to guide delivery, launch planning, ongoing feature development, and user acquisition. You will also manage a small team of UX and product management professionals.

This role requires a strong analytical thinker with a passion for data analysis and a firm grasp of the product development process. Strong communication, leadership, and management skills are also a must.

Key Responsibilities
  • Roadmap: Define product vision, roadmap, and development priorities, balancing product needs, business strategy, and technical constraints. Maintain and shape a feature backlog.

  • User Stories: Partner with internal and external partners to understand use cases, pain points, and business opportunities, and translate your findings into actionable user stories.

  • Business Planning: Work with a cross-functional team to develop business strategy and go-to-market plans for the broader initiative.

  • Prototyping: Spec out paper or lightweight prototypes to assist in concept and user testing.

  • Communication and Documentation: Ensure decisions are communicated appropriately and the work on the application is appropriately documented and accessible to stakeholders.

  • Content and Game Design: Collaborate with the Content and System Design Leads to craft a tightly integrated experience.

  • Management: Manage a small team of UX and product management professionals.

  • Problem Solving & Decision-Making: Identify challenges early and drive resolution—either directly or through escalation with clear recommendations.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience in game development and product management, particularly product ownership.

  • Proven experience bringing new products to market.

  • Fluency with scrum and/or similar project management methodologies.

  • Proven ability to translate product vision into scalable, shippable systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage a small team.

  • Ability to operate in ambiguity while building structure and clarity.

  • Excellent communication and synthesis skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with hybrid physical/digital systems

  • Experience working with external partners, IP holders, or creative collaborators

  • Familiarity with distributing products via the iOS and Google Play app stores

Compensation

The salary for this position has a range of USD 195,000 – USD 263,000 based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints. LEGO Digital Play carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to prior experience, skills, expertise, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details, inclusive of benefits, will be communicated upon finalisation of the employment offer.

We strive to create a diverse, dynamic and inclusive culture of play at the LEGO Digital Play, where everyone feels safe, valued and they belong. LEGO Digital Play is highly committed to equal employment opportunity and equal pay and seeks to encourage applicants from all backgrounds (eg. sex, gender identity or expression, race/ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion and Veteran status) to apply for roles in our team.
