Job Title:

Legislative Aide (District 105)

General Summary:

State Representative Marie Woodson is now accepting applications in her Pembroke Pines, Florida office to assist with a variety of administrative and public relations matters requiring a thorough understanding of the policies, procedures, and operating practices of the Florida Legislature.

Salary:  Annual $49,740

The Legislature offers a competitive benefits package. This position is not eligible for virtual work.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Knowledge and application of House Rules, Protocol, House-specific Applications, House Administrative Policies and the Legislature's Joint Policies and Procedures.
  2. Calendar and Scheduling
  3. Constituent Management
  4. Legislative Research
  5. Legislative Process
  6. Public Relations and Press Releases
  7. Stakeholder Relations
  8. Designated Tallahassee Staff during Committee Weeks and Session and Travel System
  9. Mandatory Trainings as Assigned

FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE: Pursuant to sections 112.3144 and 112.3145, F.S., this position is required to electronically file a Form 1 - Statement of Financial Interests with the Florida Commission on Ethics within 30 days of hire.

Minimum Qualifications

An Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university and two years of administrative experience; or a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.

Professional administrative experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
