Job description

  • Provide confidential executive and operational support to the Governor and senior advisors
  • Manage multiple calendars and respond to scheduling requests
  • Coordinate meeting logistics and prepare agendas and documentation
  • Draft, edit, and finalize correspondence, reports, and presentations
  • Conduct research and analysis on statewide issues
  • Prepare findings and recommendations for policy discussions and staff guidance
  • Facilitate information flow between the Governor's Office, state agencies, boards, commissions, legislative branch, and external stakeholders
  • Monitor and track legislative bills related to assigned policy areas
  • Assist policy staff with executing initiatives, coordinating resources, and monitoring progress
  • Manage timely policy advisor review of enrolled bills and provide necessary background information and supporting materials
  • Serve as the first point of contact for dignitaries, legislators, and key partners
Requirements
  • Four years of staff-level experience providing administrative support to management
  • Experience must include technical or analytical duties in management of program goals and objectives; program or project planning; preparing, monitoring, or controlling budgets; or research and providing analytical information and/or recommendations used in management decision making
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, or a closely-related field may substitute for up to two years of required experience
  • Strong oral and written communication with diverse audiences
  • Experience applying rules, policies, and procedures to specific work situations
  • Ability to organize, coordinate, and manage complex details
  • Demonstrated judgment, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Skill in presenting reports and recommendations
  • Knowledge of organizational research and analysis methods
  • Ability to build responsive relationships, work as a team member, demonstrate time urgency, anticipation skills, and a strong personal touch
  • Consistent and reliable attendance
  • Must complete a computerized criminal history check
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; agency does not offer visa sponsorship
  • Required to complete I-9 documentation within three days of hire
