Job description

THE MENTAL WELLNESS CENTER, INC.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Adult Mental Health Therapist

About Us

The Mental Wellness Center, Inc. (TMWC) is a values-driven group practice committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based mental health care to adults in our community. We are built on five core values: Community, Brave Work, Transparency, an Evolving Business, and a Development-Oriented approach. We hire clinicians who are serious about their craft, invested in their own growth, and ready to show up fully for their clients and their team.

Position Overview

We are looking for a licensed or license-eligible mental health therapist to join our adult outpatient team. This clinician will carry a caseload of individual adult clients, provide evidence-based treatment, and contribute to the growth and culture of our practice. This position is available as full-time or part-time.

Responsibilities

Provide individual therapy to adult clients using evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, or similar approaches. Maintain a full caseload in alignment with your employment status. Complete clinical documentation within 24 business hours of each session. Participate in team meetings, peer consultation, and ongoing professional development. Engage in marketing activities to support your caseload development and the visibility of the practice. Contribute to TMWC's blog, social media, or community outreach efforts. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards set forth by your licensing board and TMWC's policies.

Requirements

Must hold or be actively working toward an Illinois license in one of the following: LCPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent. Must be eligible for insurance paneling. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and manage a full caseload independently. Commitment to ongoing learning and clinical growth.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with adults presenting with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, or co-occurring concerns. Training in at least one evidence-based modality. Prior experience working in a group practice setting.

What We Offer

A competitive per-billable-hour rate with a clear pay progression tied to licensure milestones and caseload performance. Supervision toward licensure for provisionally licensed clinicians. A retirement plan with employer contribution. Paid Time Off. A supportive, growth-oriented team culture where you are treated like the professional you are.

Key Performance Indicators

80% client utilization rate. Completion of clinical documentation within 24 business hours. Active participation in at least one marketing or outreach activity per quarter. Consistent billing aligned with your declared employment status (full-time: 25 clients per week minimum).
