This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional client service while supporting sophisticated transactional legal work.

What You'll Do

As a Legal Assistant, you will play an integral role in helping our attorneys provide responsive, high-quality legal services to businesses, entrepreneurs, developers, and commercial clients. Responsibilities include:

  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical client files.
  • Coordinate transaction timelines, due diligence materials, and closing checklists.
  • Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate client communications.
  • Prepare expense reports, time entries, and client billing information.
  • Open new client matters, perform conflict checks, and maintain accurate client records.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, financial institutions, title companies, government agencies, and other outside contacts.
  • Assist with document management and e-filing when appropriate.
  • Perform additional administrative and legal support duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
  • Education: Associate degree, High School Diploma, GED Equivalent, or industry-specific certifications.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Prior legal assistant, executive assistant, or professional administrative experience (law firm experience preferred).
  • Experience supporting business, corporate, or commercial real estate attorneys is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • The ability to prioritize competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach and a commitment to outstanding client service.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
  • Experience with legal document management and timekeeping systems is preferred.

Why DeWitt?

At DeWitt, we believe our people are our greatest strength. We foster a collaborative, respectful workplace where employees are empowered to grow professionally while delivering exceptional service to our clients.

We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:

  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Life and disability insurance
