SUMMER INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW:
The Hanover's Internship Program provides college students with the opportunity to work on a variety of critical business assignments, test your skills, use your academic knowledge, and match your interests to a real job.
Through the 10-week summer program (June - mid August), You will:
  • Take on meaningful projects and work alongside some of the very best talent in the industry
  • Be supported and mentored by a community of exceptional talent (leaders, managers, subject matter experts and recent graduates)
  • Participate in a cross-functional team building project focused on corporate philanthropy
  • Attend weekly development workshops with your intern peers
  • Join in engagement and social activities with other interns

Our Office of General Counsel team is seeking detail-oriented and exceptional law students for our Summer Internship Program, which provides meaningful opportunities for personal and professional growth, as well as rewarding career path options. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in a corporate legal environment and exposure to a wide range of legal and regulatory issues. We value interns who are:

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
  • Work on meaningful legal assignments under the guidance of experienced in-house counsel
  • Gain exposure to legal issues affecting a corporate legal environment, including insurance regulatory frameworks, contracts, and corporate governance
  • Observe and participate in meetings with attorneys and cross-functional teams
  • Be flexible and open to working on different tasks, sharing ideas, and helping the team wherever needed
  • Demonstrate curiosity, a strong willingness to learn, and the ability to apply foundational legal knowledge to real-world legal tasks
  • Assist with legal research and writing projects on a variety of legal topics

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
  • Enrolled in an accredited law program
  • Have finished at least 1+ year(s) of full-time law school or equivalent
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Interest in insurance law, regulatory compliance, contract law, or corporate legal practice
  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Ability to commit to a full time 10-week internship program
  • Ability to commit to 2-3 days per week in-office at our Worcester, MA location
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
