Our meal assistance attendants support people who are losing their autonomy so that they can maintain their comfort and quality of life, both in institutions and at home. Your tasks include, among other things: Help users settle in for meals and ensure a safe environment. Provide assistance during mealtimes (cutting food, opening containers, adjusting accessories). Monitor swallowing and report any difficulties to the nurse or healthcare staff. Encourage user autonomy as much as possible. Follow prescribed diets (modified textures, medical restrictions). Keep tables, chairs and accessories clean after meals. Collaborate with other team members (nurses, orderlies, nutritionists). Perform any other related tasks. Profile sought: Kindness, patience and respect for the elderly or those losing their independence. Ability to observe and be vigilant to prevent the risk of suffocation. Good team spirit and sense of responsibility. Rigor in the application of hygiene and food safety rules. Documents and legal requirements in Quebec: MAPAQ training (food hygiene and safety). CPR/First Aid training (often required). PDSB (Principles for the Safe Movement of Beneficiaries) training if the position involves travel support. Criminal background check (mandatory for working with vulnerable clients). Vaccinations up to date according to health network standards. Compliance with CNESST standards (occupational health and safety). Compliance with the Act respecting health and social services (LSSSS).
