Introduction:

YESCO New Jersey North is a Business-to-Business (B2B) franchise located in Morris Plains, NJ. The company specializes in repairing and maintaining business signs and aerial lighting. We primarily serve businesses in Northern New Jersey and surrounding areas in New York. As part of the nation's oldest and largest industry leader in the Sign and Lighting business, YESCO New Jersey North is committed to providing high-quality service and innovative solutions to their clients.

We are looking for a qualified Sign and Lighting Service Technician to join the YESCO team in Morris Plains, NJ. The qualified individual will use company trucks to travel to customer sites, and troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and/or maintain electrical and non-electrical building business signs, pylon signs, neon signs, indoor or outdoor facility lighting, parking lot lights and wall packs. Job sites are within Northern New Jersey and surrounding areas in New York..

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and/or performing preventive maintenance on the following sign and lighting systems
    • Channel letter signs, neon signs, pylon signs, box signs, EMC signs
    • Neon, Fluorescent, HID and LED lighting
    • Parking Lot Lights
    • Wall Packs
    • LED Retrofits
    • Sign Restoration
  • Adhere to all quality and safety codes while performing tasks
  • Provide great customer service at the job site
  • Operate bucket truck – most tasks conducted using a bucket truck
  • Perform routine safety maintenance of bucket truck
  • Stock/restock bucket truck with inventory items needed for repairs

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years electrical experience with strong critical thinking skills to troubleshoot and repair sign and lighting systems
  • Ability to diagnose and replace faulty power supplies, ballasts, and transformers
  • Ability to retrofit signs and lighting fixtures to LED
  • Ability to operate bucket trucks safely
  • Ability to operate a forklift is a plus, but not a must have
  • Driver’s license with clean driving history (CDL not required)
  • Comfortable working outdoors at heights in any weather
  • Great customer service skills
  • Familiarity with smartphones or tablets
  • Sign and lighting service experience preferred, but not required
