Property Manager – Affordable Housing Community | Pemiscot County, MO

An established property management company is seeking a qualified Property Manager to lead operations at an affordable multifamily community in Pemiscot County, Missouri. This position is well suited to a professional with a background in subsidized housing who combines operational discipline with a strong commitment to resident service.

The Role

The Property Manager holds full responsibility for the daily performance of the community, including occupancy, financial results, regulatory compliance, and resident relations. Core areas of accountability include:

Operations and Leasing. Direct all leasing activity, from marketing available units and conducting showings to processing applications and executing lease documentation. Maintain strong occupancy through effective outreach and resident retention.

Financial Stewardship. Manage the property budget, control operating expenses, oversee rent collection, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to support the long-term stability of the asset.

Regulatory Compliance. Ensure adherence to all applicable affordable housing program requirements, maintain complete and audit-ready resident files and documentation, and remain current on federal, state, and local housing regulations.

Facilities and Vendor Management. Oversee maintenance operations, coordinate contractors and vendors, manage supply procurement, and ensure the property meets all health, safety, and building code standards.

Resident and Community Relations. Serve as the primary point of contact for residents, address inquiries and concerns with professionalism, and support programming that fosters a positive, engaged community environment. Partner with site staff to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in residential property management; affordable housing experience strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of HUD, LIHTC, or comparable affordable housing programs and their compliance requirements
