Job description

This is a full-time position and must adhere to the regulations stipulated in the Mount Marty University Employee Handbook. The Learning Technology Support Specialist provides support for technology used by faculty and students to further the mission of Mount Marty University.
Mission:
To assist the Information Technology Department in supporting the Universities learning technology needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide learning management system support for faculty and students.
  • Assist faculty with the creation of static and video content for traditional, hybrid and distance learning classes.
  • Research advances in educational technology and make recommendations for implementation at Mount Marty University.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for faculty for computer hardware and software.
  • Facilitate the improvement, repair, and maintenance of lab and classroom technology.
  • Create and provide training programs for students, faculty and staff on new and existing technology.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of learning technology used across campus.
  • Maintain and improve training documents provided by ITSS and vendors.
  • Work with ITSS team to provide an IT infrastructure that can support existing and new technology initiatives.
  • Provide technology support and training to visitors using campus resources.
  • Support and improve distance learning capabilities.
  • Responsible for set-up and support of audio/visuals needs including live streams during on-campus events.
  • Additional duties as assigned by VP of Technology.

Qualifications:
  • Associate or Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across a variety of platforms.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of large groups.
  • Demonstrated technical and customer services skills.
  • Commitment to the mission of Mount Marty University.
