SUMMARY 

As a Director of Operations for The Bank of Elk River, you will serve as a key leader within the organization devising annual strategies, implementing operational efficiencies, driving digital-first methodologies, and advancing internal and external user experiences. You will have the opportunity to coach and develop employees while fostering a culture of collaboration and communication. As an experienced and detail-oriented manager, you will lead team members across lending and back-office operation areas.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a deep understanding of bank operations, products, systems and lines of business including working knowledge of core banking platforms, deposit and loan origination platforms, teller processing platforms, check processing platforms and digital banking solutions. Additionally, the right candidate will be familiar with federal and state regulations as well as internal controls and standard banking policies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides leadership and management to the Deposit Operations Manager, Loan Operations Manager, and Data Analyst. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the departments, which includes planning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Takes responsibility for subordinates’ activities. Develops subordinates’ skills and encourages growth. Continually works to improve management skills and make themselves available to staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides leadership and oversight of the bank’s operations departments, including Deposit Operations, Loan Operations, and Data Analytics, ensuring efficient workflows, quality service, employee development, and alignment with bank objectives.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and enhances operational procedures and controls to improve efficiency, accuracy, consistency, and effectiveness while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, audit expectations, and risk management standards.
  • Serves as the operational business owner for the SilverLake Core Banking Platform, including parameter coordination, system enhancements, end-user communication, training, reporting, and year-end processing.
  • Oversee the administration, maintenance and operational support of various auxiliary banking platforms, including teller platforms, deposit and loan origination platforms, digital banking solutions, eSign systems, document platforms, and ensuring systems support departmental and bank-wide goals.
  • Provides oversight of the Data Analyst function to ensure accurate and timely Cognos report development that meets the bank’s reporting and business intelligence needs; oversees administration of the Synergy cold report storage system to ensure secure retention, retrieval, and management of archived reports and documents.
  • Serves as a primary liaison with vendors, including Jack Henry, to evaluate solution effectiveness, coordinate enhancements, resolve issues, and ensure products and services continue to meet the Bank’s operational and strategic objectives.
  • Leads and coordinates operations-related projects, system enhancements, conversions, and process improvement initiatives to support organizational priorities and successful implementation.
  • Develops, monitors, and reports key operational performance metrics to evaluate efficiency, accuracy, service quality, risk exposure, and progress toward departmental goals.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a 4-year college or university preferred and/or 10 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of banking products and regulations preferred, including ACH/NACHA, Wire Transfers, check/UCC, Treasury Management, eSign, and Debit Card management.
  • Jack Henry systems experience including SilverLake core and online banking systems preferred. 
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, prioritization, and resource management.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams, drive performance, and achieve organizational goals. Possesses a high degree of initiative, intellectual curiosity, creativity, and comprehensive knowledge of banking operations.
  • Regular, reliable attendance is required.

COMPENSATION

Starting Salary Range$110,200-$153,000 per year
