Team:

The Corporate Development team's mission is to be at the forefront of accelerating the development and execution of Genesys' strategy primarily, but not exclusively, through buy-side M&A. The team has completed 22 acquisitions since becoming an independent company in 2012. Additionally, the team supports other initiatives including investments, divestitures, partnerships, strategy projects, aspects of integration, and other ad hoc projects.

Role:

The Corporate Development Associate will report to the Head of Corporate Development and work closely with the broader team to support the execution of strategic projects. The role is a mix of conducting structured quantitative and qualitative analysis, contributing to the sourcing and evaluation of acquisition targets, project management (e.g., aspects of due diligence), and advancement of AI tools used in the team's workflow. The primary focus will be buy-side M&A (from M&A strategy to deal execution), with additional exposure to integration success, minority investments, sell-side projects, and other special initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy: Collect competitive intelligence and map industry segments

  • Sourcing: Identify potential acquisition targets given a general investment thesis

  • Evaluation: Conduct qualitative/quantitative analysis of targets; support business case development

  • Deal Execution: Support project management of aspects of the diligence process and other initiatives; assist in analytics and documentation of findings for executive management

  • Integration: Support the integration team with knowledge transfer and other special projects

Qualifications / Skills Desired and Preferred:

  • 1-4 years of relevant experience at an investment bank, private equity, strategy consulting, transaction services firm, corporate development, or strategic finance

  • Completion of an analyst program at an investment bank, private equity, strategy consulting, or transaction services firm is preferred

  • M&A deal experience or exposure is preferred

  • Experience in the enterprise software industry is preferred; direct exposure to CX is a plus

  • Intellectual curiosity, including a desire to learn about products and technology

  • Consistent ability to deliver high-quality work

  • Superior attention to detail

  • Professional maturity, sound judgment, and discretion to thrive in an executive-level environment and be trusted with highly confidential information

  • Understanding of accounting concepts related to P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of ambiguity and minimal supervision. Proactive self-starter with the ability to multitask and prioritize appropriately to meet tight deadlines

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to confidently interact with internal and external stakeholders

  • Advanced Excel/PowerPoint skills, including financial modeling and presentation building

Compensation:

This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a commission or performance-based bonus opportunities.

$90,900.00 - $159,900.00
