Job description

Job Summary 

The Product Development (PD) Learning and Development Specialist authors, develops, reviews, releases, and delivers programs to the PD Team.  This role contributes to content creation and facilitation while owning coordination and execution of PD onboarding and annual training requirements. This position requires a professional with a strong background in training, instructional design, adult learning, and content creation.

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Collaborates with PD leadership, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Facilitates on-boarding of PD employees.
  • Consult subject matter experts to determine needs and elicit content.
  • Develops and revises programs related to Product Development processes.
  • Manages documentation and LMS processes of Product Development employee's annual training program.
  • Designs, develops, and produces training materials including printed, visual, and electronic media.
  • Develops eLearning curriculum and content using appropriate authoring tools.
  • Develops, revises and delivers training content in variety of formats.
  • Stays abreast of the new trends and tools in employee development.
  • Supports administration of our Learning Management System (LMS), including enrolling users and assigning curriculum and courses.
  • Supports administration of other forums for learning such as topical communities-of-practice.

  • Knowledge of instructional design theory and learning principles.
  • Knowledge of training methods, tools and techniques, including those applicable to instructor-led and self-paced, virtual and face-to-face, synchronous and asynchronous.
  • Adequate knowledge of learning management software.
  • Familiarity with talent management and succession planning is preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency transforming subject matter expert interviews into content.
  • Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills, including the ability to comprehensively analyze and interpret policies, procedures and situations in a multifaceted way and possess strong problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions to complex issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills including ability to communicate process and training related content to groups and individuals.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software.
  • Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to use Learning Management Systems
  • Able to perform classroom training: virtual and live environments.
  • Ability to establish project plans, regularly monitor and track progress on work projects, and ensure appropriate communications with project partners.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read, write and speak the English language.
  • BS or BA degree (preferably in a technical, training, or lean discipline)
  • 0-5 years’ experience
  • Experience with UKG LMS is preferred.
  • Experience with one or more of the following software iSeries, Solumina, ERP, Creo, Visio, Azure, Articulate 360, Canva is preferred.
