Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors.
  • Provides psychiatric evaluations and consultations for adult patients admitted throughout the hospital.
  • Evaluates patients presenting to the Emergency Department and provides recommendations for treatment, admission, transfer, or discharge as appropriate.
  • Consults with attending physicians and other members of the healthcare team regarding psychiatric diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing patient management.
  • Documents all patient encounters, consultations, assessments, and treatment recommendations in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary rounds, case discussions, and treatment planning activities.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary personnel regarding patient care and treatment recommendations.
  • Maintains compliance with all hospital policies, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and professional practice guidelines.
  • Participates in departmental quality improvement and performance improvement activities as requested.
  • Attends departmental meetings, educational programs, and other professional activities as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
