Position Summary

Aerostar Manufacturing is seeking an Assembly / Leak Test / Process Engineer to develop, validate, and improve manufacturing assembly processes and pressure decay leak testing systems. This role supports new product launches, process optimization, automation, quality improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives within automotive, aerospace, and industrial manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize assembly and leak test processes.
  • Support new product launches, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and process validation.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing, quality, and leak testing issues.
  • Improve productivity, OEE, cycle time, and product quality.
  • Develop work instructions, process documentation, and standard work.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Maintenance, and customers.
  • Support equipment installation, validation, and production readiness.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing or Process Engineering.
  • Experience with automated assembly, pressure decay leak testing, and process validation.
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, MSA, GD&T, and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred
  • Experience in automotive, aerospace, or high-volume manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949, AS9100, and ISO 9001.
  • Experience with PLCs, robotics, vision systems, and automation.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent.
