THE ROLE:
We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Lead Software Systems Engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD's product, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies to market. The Systems Design Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.
THE PERSON:
As a Leader in Systems Design Engineering, you will drive balanced, scalable, and automated solutions. In this high visibility position, your software systems engineering expertise will be necessary towards product development, definition, and root cause resolution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Drive development of Python applications, automation frameworks, and engineering tools.
  • Lead software development efforts and technical initiatives across multiple teams.
    Identify and champion opportunities to leverage AI to improve engineering productivity and business outcomes.
  • Lead AI and emerging technology proof-of-concept (POC) efforts from evaluation through deployment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize work, and deliver high-quality solutions.
    Mentor engineers and promote software development best practices.
  • Develop APIs, data pipelines, and workflow automation solutions.
  • Debug and resolve complex software and system integration issues.
  • Evaluate and adopt new technologies that improve team efficiency and innovation.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Strong Python development skills, including object-oriented programming, testing, and performance optimization.
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience building APIs, automation frameworks, and scalable software applications.
  • Proficiency with modern software development practices including Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and code reviews.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure.
  • Experience developing and integrating AI/ML solutions, including LLM-based applications and agent frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead technical projects, POCs, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience with databases, data engineering, and API-driven solutions.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to independently drive tasks and initiatives to completion.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering
