Lead Software Engineer
Job Description:
Lead Software Engineer positions offered by Cox Automotive Corporate Services, LLC (Atlanta, Georgia). Provide project leadership in connection with constructing and coordinating software design processes published to both internal and external consumers. Provide technical project management to test engineers and support teams. Contribute to the engineering efforts of scrum teams by applying knowledge of modern software design, best practices, design patterns, and frameworks, and an understanding of application performance and maintainability. Collaborate with team to build, deploy, monitor, and manage a highly performing and highly available production system. Influence technical solutions while coaching newer or less experienced scrum team members. Articulate key issues, draft action plans, and communicate with management. Implement platform-level components including event architectures, messaging, and caching solutions. Write readable, maintainable, and efficient code. Functionally manage the design and implementation of REST APIs, services, system tasks, and cloud solutions. Enhance the performance and reliability of our current solutions.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Requires a bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in computer science or related field and 6 years of experience developing software in node.js or python.
  • Also requires 6 years of experience:
    • Utilizing backend development in node.js OR Python;
    • working with architecture, design and design patterns;
    • Using Angular or React web technologies;
    • Working with databases including Postgres or AuroraDB;
    • Programming web applications using React;
    • Working with one of the following AWS technologies: ECS, S3, AuroraDB, RDS, SQS, SNS, or Lambda;
    • Identifying system bottlenecks and architectural risks.
  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience as stated, the employer will accept a master's or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 4 years of experience as stated, or a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 1 year of experience as stated.
  • Employee reports to Atlanta, GA, but may telecommute from any location in the U.S.
  • Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.

Compensation includes a base salary of $161,797- $204,285. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
