Job description

Lead Security Engineer (Series A Fintech)


We are a $20M Series A startup


We are seeking a Lead Security Engineer to serve as an autonomous unit within our engineering team. Reporting directly to the CTO , you will own the full spectrum of security concerns, ensuring our infrastructure and ML models remain resilient as we scale.


The Role

  • Security Ownership: Develop, implement, and maintain security solutions across cloud infrastructure and application layers.
  • AI/ML Security: Design security protocols specifically for our ML models and extensive Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) processes.
  • Compliance & Governance: Take full ownership of maintaining SOC2 compliance and managing ongoing vulnerabilities.
  • Offensive & Defensive Security: Lead incident response efforts and conduct regular penetration testing of our software.
  • Security Culture: Act as a subject matter expert to foster security awareness and best practices across the broader engineering team.


Qualifications

  • Experience: 7+ years of dedicated security engineering experience.
  • Cloud Expertise: Deep technical proficiency with GCP (Google Cloud Platform).
  • Technical Depth: Strong background in Application Security and securing cloud-native environments.
  • Tech Stack Familiarity: Experience or comfort working within a stack that includes Python, Node.js, TypeScript, Postgres, and BigQuery.
