Position Summary

As a Materials Lead, you will support the day-to-day operations of the materials and inventory function while providing hands-on leadership to Material Handlers and Stock Clerks. In this role, you will help coordinate the movement, storage, and accuracy of materials required for production while ensuring team members follow safety standards and established operating procedures.

Youโ€™ll work closely with production, warehouse, and inventory teams to ensure materials are available when needed, workflows remain efficient, and department goals related to safety, quality, and production deadlines are met.


What Youโ€™ll Be Doing
Materials Coordination & Inventory Control

  • Support the coordination, receipt, storage, handling, and movement of raw materials, purchased parts, and production supplies
  • Ensure production teams have the materials required to meet daily and scheduled production demands
  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions and assist in monitoring inventory levels
  • Support inventory control processes including cycle counts and discrepancy resolution
  • Assist with physical inventory counts and month-end inventory activities as needed
  • Follow and reinforce company standard operating procedures related to materials handling and safety

Team Leadership & Daily Operations

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support to Material Handlers and Stock Clerks
  • Help ensure team members follow safety practices and department procedures
  • Coordinate daily tasks and workflow to support production schedules
  • Assist with onboarding and training new team members on equipment, systems, and processes
  • Communicate with supervisors and cross-functional teams to resolve material issues quickly
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in materials handling, warehouse operations, or inventory control
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate inventory records
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate multiple activities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Highly Desired

  • Previous lead or senior materials handler experience
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Sage X3
  • Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.)
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Associate or Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent work experience in supply chain, logistics, or related field
