Position Purpose:

The DevOps Engineer Team Lead introduces processes, tools, and methodologies to balance needs throughout the software development life cycle, from scripting and deployment to maintenance and updates. This role partners with architects, platform and development engineering experts to define requirements, solutions, and deliverables while leading cross-functional collaboration across Client Services, Relationship Management, and broader Technology organization. The Team Lead is responsible for creating synergy across engineering and operations functions, optimizing DevOps AI tooling and strategy, and ensuring the operational needs of clients and internal users are met. This role is multi-faceted and requires a candidate with strong communication, technical leadership, and people management skills.

Essential Functions:
  • Design, configure, automate, and maintain build pipelines for deploying infrastructure and code.
  • Lead the optimization of DevOps AI tooling and strategy to improve engineering productivity, operational visibility, automation, and decision-making.
  • Manage and mentor DevOps engineers while coordinating cross-functional teams to create alignment and synergy across engineering, operations, and client-facing groups.
  • Must be proficient in automation tools such as PowerShell and Terraform.
  • Provide expert-level skillsets with Azure ARM Templates, Azure DevOps, and Argo CI/CD methodology.
  • Maintain robust knowledge of Kubernetes architecture and implementation.
  • Enable internal functionality such as monitoring, alerting, automated testing frameworks, and AI-assisted operational workflows to ensure SLAs are met internally and externally.
  • Engage with the DevOps and Cloud Architecture group on architecture review decisions and platform standards.
  • Ensure stable production and client-facing environments that are well built with a clear escalation path for solving issues.
  • Enable solution architecture to meet defi’s requirements including cloud spend, scalability, security, resilience, and performance.
  • Drive the buildout of AWS/Azure Clouds and DevOps best practices across teams.
  • Integrate hosting cost management, monitoring, and alerting into all aspects of DevOps processes.
  • Provide on-call support guidance and contribute to system availability and operational readiness.
  • Utilize Agile practices to manage priorities, deliver features, and coordinate team execution.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with automation, configuration management, and DevOps engineering practices.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Azure and AWS infrastructure including Kubernetes, Terraform, VMSS, VM, AKS, App Gateway, network resources, Key Vault, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics.
  • Demonstrated mastery with Azure, AWS, GitHub and Azure DevOps CI/CD methodology.
  • Experience leading technical initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams, and driving delivery across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience evaluating, adopting, or optimizing AI-enabled DevOps tools and automation strategies is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge on how to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in test and production environments.
  • Effective analytical, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Microsoft Certification in Azure Administration and/or Azure DevOps Engineering
  • Production-level experience in Terraform
  • Expert in cloud-based technology such as VMs, VMSS, KeyVault, Storage Accounts, Managed Instance, etc
  • AKS/EKS experience
