The Opportunity

Puig USA is seeking a technically strong Analytics Engineer to support the next phase of its data and analytics transformation. This role will build and maintain analytical datasets, semantic models, Power BI solutions, automated workflows, and business-facing data products that enable better decision-making across the organization.

This position is ideal for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a practical, solutions-oriented mindset and is comfortable delivering value in a fast-paced, evolving environment. The Analytics Engineer will partner closely with business stakeholders and collaborate across regional and global teams to support Puig USA's long-term data and analytics strategy.

Approximately 80% of the role will focus on Analytics Engineering, including semantic modeling, Power BI development, SQL-based data transformation, Python automation, reusable datasets, and business partnership. The remaining 20% will support Data Platform Readiness, including lightweight data ingestion, API integrations, cloud platform exposure, data quality initiatives, and foundational work that helps prepare the organization for more scalable, cloud-enabled data and analytics capabilities.

This role is being established during a period of meaningful organizational and technology transformation. The U.S. Business & Data Analytics team currently operates an analytics ecosystem across Power BI, Python, Power Automate, SharePoint, SAP, retailer data feeds, and business-managed processes, while the enterprise data platform continues to evolve. The successful candidate will help deliver immediate business value while contributing to the development of more scalable, modern analytics capabilities for the future.

What you'll get to do

Analytics Engineering

  • Design, build, and maintain analytical datasets and semantic models that support reporting, self-service analytics, and business decision-making
  • Develop scalable Power BI datasets, data models, reports, and dashboards with a strong focus on usability, performance, and consistency
  • Use SQL and Python to transform, automate, and prepare data for analytical use cases.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into practical, sustainable analytics solutions
  • Improve data accessibility, documentation, and reuse across the reporting environment


Data Integration & Platform Readiness

  • Build and maintain lightweight data ingestion and automation processes using SQL, Python, APIs, and other available tools
  • Help strengthen data quality, validation, reliability, and reusability across reporting and analytical datasets
  • Partner with regional and global teams on emerging cloud data initiatives and evolving data architecture practices
  • Contribute to foundational data engineering activities and scalable data products as the organization's capabilities and platform landscape mature

Automation & Operational Support

  • Build and maintain Python-based automation solutions that streamline recurring data and reporting processes
  • Support Power Automate, SharePoint, and related low-code or no-code workflows used by the U.S. analytics team
  • Troubleshoot production issues, data anomalies, and process failures across analytics and automation solutions
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort, improve reliability, and simplify ongoing support

Data & Analytics Transformation

  • Partner with the Director of Business & Data Analytics to help shape the future analytics and data ecosystem for the U.S.
  • Work collaboratively across the Business & Data Analytics team and with cross-functional stakeholders so solutions are connected, shared, and aligned to broader priorities
  • Help identify opportunities to modernize reporting, automation, data management, and analytics workflows
  • Contribute to the evolution of scalable data products, cloud-based data platforms, and modern analytics engineering practices
  • Balance near-term business needs with longer-term technology and data transformation objectives
We'd love to meet you if you have
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Business Intelligence Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Strong SQL and Python skills, including experience building data transformation, automation, and analytical data modeling solutions
  • Experience developing and supporting Power BI semantic models, datasets, reports, and dashboards
  • Experience integrating data from multiple business systems, APIs, files, and external data sources
  • Experience troubleshooting and supporting production reporting, data, and automation solutions
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner effectively with both business and technical teams
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, learn quickly, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as BigQuery, Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, Azure Synapse, or similar technologies
  • Understanding of modern analytics engineering and data architecture concepts, including dbt, ELT/ETL frameworks, semantic modeling, data quality, observability, CI/CD, Git, and version control practices
  • Experience with APIs, automated file ingestion, and lightweight pipeline development.
  • Experience supporting consumer goods, beauty, luxury, retail, sales, supply chain, or commercial analytics environments and/or working within a matrixed global organization

Compensation Data

As required by New York State's salary transparency law, effective November 2022, the expected base salary for this position ranges from $110,000.00 - $120,000.00. Various factors are considered when extending offers, such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
