We are seeking a Senior Unix LDAP Engineer with 10+ years of experience supporting secure LDAP environments within large-scale enterprise infrastructures. This individual will be responsible for administering and securing LDAP/LDAPS environments, managing Unix/Linux systems, supporting DNS services, and leading server lifecycle activities including builds, upgrades, patching, migrations, and troubleshooting.
The ideal candidate will possess strong infrastructure engineering expertise, a security-first mindset, and experience supporting mission-critical production environments.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and maintain LDAP/LDAPS directory services in enterprise environments
Configure, secure, and troubleshoot LDAP authentication and directory integrations
Manage Unix/Linux server environments including builds, installations, upgrades, and patching
Perform server migrations and infrastructure modernization initiatives
Administer and support DNS infrastructure and related services
Implement system hardening, access controls, and security best practices
Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability across infrastructure environments
Troubleshoot complex system, authentication, and connectivity issues
Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and standards
Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams on enterprise initiatives
Support production incidents, root cause analysis, and remediation efforts
Required Qualifications
Bachelor''s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field from a reputed institution
10+ years of hands-on experience with Unix/Linux system administration
Strong experience administering LDAP and Secure LDAP (LDAPS) environments
Experience with DNS server administration and troubleshooting
Expertise with server builds, installations, upgrades, patching, and migrations
Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
Knowledge of system security, authentication, and access management concepts
Experience working in enterprise-scale production environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with OpenLDAP, 389 Directory Server, or similar LDAP platforms
Knowledge of Kerberos, PAM, SSO, MFA, or Identity & Access Management solutions
Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, Ubuntu, or Solaris
Scripting experience with Shell, Python, or Perl
Familiarity with automation and configuration management tools
Exposure to cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments
Understanding of PKI, certificates, and encryption technologies
