Job description

Job Summary:
The Construction Superintendent coordinates all project construction activities. They will supervise all field personnel, including sub-contractors. Their goal is to successfully complete the project safely, per the drawings, specifications, on schedule and within budget.
Essential Functions:
  • Follows and enforces company, state and federal safety regulations
  • Works with all involved to maintain a clean and healthy project environment
  • Works with Project Manager and others to ensure that projects are being constructed per the plans and specifications, on time and within budget
  • Must understand, review and manage project drawings and documents and communicate the information to others
  • Must effectively communicate with owners, designers, inspectors and others on projects
  • Creates daily reports to include information on safety, work force, production, meetings, weather, sub-contractors, schedule, etc.
  • Ensure tools, supplies and equipment are purchased/rented, maintained and secured as necessary for work schedule
  • Demonstrates knowledge of subcontractor's scope, phases of work and monitors progress
  • Work with General Superintendent and Project Manager to maintain proper work force
  • Must work to ensure efficient use of all company resources

  • Must have ability to work with all types of construction equipment, including backhoe, skid steer, man lifts, fork lifts, etc.
  • Must have excellent carpentry skills and demonstrate competent knowledge of all phases of commercial construction and trades associated.

Education and Experience:
High School Education or GED. At least four years of verifiable Superintendent experience.
Physical Factors and Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to lift objects of under 50 pounds on a regular basis and over 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Must work overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to work standing on a contentious basis.
  • Must be able to work outdoors.
  • Must be able to hear and work around moving equipment.
  • Must be able to work from a ladder, climb stairs, work from scaffolding, out of man lift and from other elevated work surfaces.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, crawl, stand, walk, push, pull, lift and grasp frequently.
