Job Summary:

Position Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: $20.00 - $23.00/hr DOE
Qualifications: Requires a minimum 1-year driving experience in 26โ€™ Box Truck
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM

Our Delivery Drivers operate a 26' commercial, liftgate box truck to perform pick-ups, deliveries and recoveries of freight in a time-sensitive and professional manner.ย ย  Our PM drivers work mostly at the LAX Cargo terminals picking up and delivering air freight shipments.

California Sierra Express has been serving the air freight logistics industry for over 35 years. We operate six freight terminals in CA and one in Reno, NV.ย  We're an overnight carrier serving international and domestic freight forwarders as a final mile Pick-Up and Delivery agent for shipments that travel around the globe.

You'll be joining a local team of over 30 people all committed to providing the best service possible to our customers who trust Cal Sierra to move their shipments on-time throughout the greater Los Angeles area.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Consistent attendance Mon - Fri is mandatory.ย  Additional weekend work is available, if desired.
  • Complete assigned route in a timely manner.ย  Route size can vary day to day and may require 8-10 hours to complete.
  • Practice defensive driving principles and follow all company safety policies.
  • Comply with all laws and regulations relating to driving, transporting and handling of freight including those issued by but limited to The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Department of Transportation (DOT).
  • Comply with truck and cargo security requirements as outlined by the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA).
  1. High School diploma or GED preferred.
  2. Valid Class C Driverโ€™s License.
  3. Must be at least 23 years of age.
  4. Minimum of one (1) year commercial driving experience.
  5. Clean DMV record (no serious moving violations in the past 5 years)
  6. Valid DOT Medical Card or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
  7. Knowledge of federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations.
  8. Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA laws and regulations, preferred.
  9. Ability to effectively communicate in English; verbally and in writing.
