Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the guidance of the Housekeeping Supervisor/Director, This position is responsible for the cleaning and maintaining in a neat, orderly and safe manner the living, sleeping and working areas at the YMCA of the Ozarks. They are responsible for carrying out work orders as the Housekeeping Supervisor assigns them. They are responsible for insuring to our guest's clean facilities in all areas, fast efficient service with the highest quality of workmanship. Housekeepers should respond to guests needs in a fast and friendly manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Cleaning of Trout Lodge and Camp Lakewood lounges, meeting rooms, conference halls, offices, public restrooms, stairwells, porches and sidewalks.
  2. Cleaning of all out buildings, LW cabins, Family Cabins, Trout Lodge and other units that may be appointed to be cleaned (example: staff housing).
  3. Help care for and maintain supply rooms, storage units, linens service areas, and housekeeping work areas.
  4. Follow through with all inventory policies and procedures including linen counts.
  5. Responsible for meeting time and quality standards set forth by Director of Housekeeping.
  6. Responsible for personal quality in workmanship, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and maintenance in all aspects of the job.
  7. Responsible for personal safety, doing his/her job in the safest manner possible.
  8. General cleaning duties and manual labor may include: Washing windows, vacuuming, floor care, wall washing, sweeping, dusting, bathroom cleaning, making and changing of beds, minimal laundry, trash removal, linen pick-up and delivery.
  9. Responsible for observing and reporting any damages or needed repairs to immediate supervisor in all facilities at Camp Lakewood and Trout Lodge.
  10. Able and willing to assist with Linen and Floor Tech responsibilities. Willing to work as a team to sweep and mop the floors as needed. Willing and able to pick up and deliver linens and supplies.
  11. Able and willing to work on deep cleaning during "slow season" at Lakewood and Trout Lodge to include using ladders, carpet extractor, man lift, moving of furniture, mattresses and etc.
  12. Follow through of uniform policy to ensure personal grooming, dress and standards of conduct in compliance with personnel policies and YMCA of the Ozarks standards. Uniforms must be neat and clean. Shirts must be tucked in.
  13. Must be available upon request to fill in for sickness or family emergencies.
  14. Follow through on scheduled task for example, flipping mattresses, inspections of bed frames, detailing showers and restrooms, changing shower curtains, washing bedspreads, mattress pads, curtains and so on.
