Job description

Purpose and Summary We love our residents. We are seeking one associate to join our team and help maintain the facility environment in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition by performing housekeeping and laundry tasks. Essential Duties Clean and sanitize all rooms in all assigned areas, such as restrooms, shower rooms, storage rooms, resident rooms, lounges, offices, dining rooms, etc.

Gathers and disposes of trash, cleans walls and ceilings, damp dusts furniture and fixtures, washes windows and mirrors, and cleans and refills all dispensers. Uses housekeeping equipment necessary for the cleaning and general maintenance of all floors (including floor stripper, burnisher, automatic scrubber for waxing and buffing of floors, and full-size and hand-held carpet shampooers). Maintains inventory of housekeeping and laundry supplies, receives deliveries and stocks shelves.

Relocates and organizes residents' belongings and room upon notification of planned room change. Performs all facets of the laundry operation including washing, drying, folding, sorting, and transporting of facility and resident laundry. Performs laundry functions such as sorting, loading, and unloading of washer and dryers, and folding of personals and linens.

Marks and labels linens and personals as assigned. Moves soiled laundry and distributes linens as assigned. Cleans equipment and work area as assigned.

Participates in continuous Quality Improvement Activities as assigned. May perform other varied duties/responsibilities as per facility needs. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent experience preferred.

Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions. Ability to operate specialized equipment necessary to perform the job. Ability to understand and comply with federal and state, and facility safety requirements.

Valid Wisconsin driver's license. Possess the ability to communicate effectively. Work Environment & Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

The employee must frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Risk of blood borne pathogen exposure is considered high.
