Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to set up and operate Horizontal CNC Lathes, performing a wide range of machining operations. This role involves interpreting process drawings, selecting tools, and ensuring precise machining on various materials including cast iron, steel, and non-ferrous metals. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high-quality standards in a safe and organized environment.
Shift: 3rd Sunday-Thursday
Key Job Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC lathes to perform machining tasks such as drilling, turning, threading, reaming, and more.
  • Read and interpret process drawings to determine the sequence of operations, tools, and fixture setups.
  • Monitor machining processes, adjusting feed rates, speeds, and tools as necessary to meet precise tolerances.
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing Support Department to develop and refine programs and processes.
  • Operate machines under keyboard or manual control when needed, and edit programs as required.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning and lubrication, ensuring safe operation.
  • Ensure a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and company procedures.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Experience in operating CNC lathes and familiarity with speed lathes, overhead cranes, and various machinist tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, process sheets, and understand tolerances, feeds, and speeds.
  • Strong attention to detail in monitoring program speeds and performing close-tolerance machining operations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve programming errors, machine malfunctions, and other operational issues.
  • Familiarity with a variety of materials such as cast iron, steel alloys, and non-metallic materials.
