Job description

Our client, the premier energy regulatory law firm in Oregon, is seeking one or more attorneys to support its busy and growing energy regulatory practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney interested in working on cutting-edge issues impacting the energy industry, including the ongoing energy transition, renewable generation, transmission development, and utility regulation.

They are looking to fill one or more junior to senior associate-level positions. May also consider potential lateral partner candidates as well.

The position is based in Portland, Oregon, with a hybrid work model requiring attorneys to work in the office at least three days per week.

What you’ll do:

  • Support clients in state and federal regulatory and administrative law matters• Assist utilities and energy companies with regulatory compliance, proceedings, and strategic initiatives• Conduct legal research and draft high-level written work products, including briefs, motions, and regulatory filings• Advise clients on matters involving renewable energy, transmission development, decarbonization, and utility operations• Work collaboratively with attorneys and clients on complex energy and utility matters

What you will need:

  • J.D. degree with strong academic credentials• Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills• Experience or demonstrated interest in energy, utility regulation, administrative law, or regulated industries• Judicial clerkship experience is highly valued• A professional, motivated, and team-oriented approach
