We're seeking an experienced
Punch/Laser Mechanic (Setup) with a background in
Amada punch/laser equipment or similar CNC sheet metal machinery. This role involves machine setup, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, blueprint reading, quality inspections, tooling maintenance, and working with a team dedicated to producing high-quality precision sheet metal components in a modern manufacturing environment. Pay Rate: $26 to $29, DEO, will consider up to $33+ for advanced CNC set up
Location: On-Site, will work in Bonham TX until the Rowlett facility opens
Position / Title: Punch / Laser Mechanic (Set Up)
Shift / Hours:
- Monday, 3:00pm-2am, Tuesday-Thursday 3:30pm-2am with OT as required.
- Fridays, 3:30pm-9am as required.
- Subject to change
Primary Purpose:- Set up and operate Amada punch, laser, and punch/laser combination machines.
- Perform preventive maintenance according to machine checklists.
- Read blueprints, travelers, and work instructions.
- Select, install, sharpen, and maintain punch tooling.
- Understand material types, thicknesses, and grain direction.
- Inspect parts for burrs, slag, burns, and dimensional accuracy.
- Complete quality documentation and sampling records.
- Identify tooling or machine issues and report them promptly.
- Follow ISO 9001 quality procedures and company safety policies.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed.
Experience:- 3-5 years of experience operating Amada punch/laser equipment or similar machinery.
- Ability to set machine parameters and troubleshoot cut quality.
- Blueprint reading and quality inspection experience.
- Ability to stand most of the day and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Positive attitude and ability to work with production teams
Requirements:- Ability to perform the responsibilities listed above.
- Possesses a Positive Attitude with a "Lead by Example" work ethic.
- Familiar with the operation of a Pega and Laser including setting machine parameters for the type of materials being cut.
- Ability to spend most of the day standing and/or moving about the work area/shop as required.
- Ability to safely handle parts up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform other tasks within reasonable exertion limits to assist other shop personnel in special circumstances.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment.
- High school education is desired but not mandatory.
