Job description

We're looking for a Survey Technician/Crew Chief to join our team at our Wichita location. This individual will assist with a variety of projects from any of our service areas: Land Development, Public Works, Transportation, Industrial/Energy, Architectural Engineering, and Electric Utility Design.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist our licensed surveyors in the preparation of topographic, property boundary, and engineering design surveys, and construction staking.
  • Assist in processing survey data and drawing production.
  • Develop thorough and accurate field notes, survey reports and calculations.
  • Quickly solve daily survey-related problems and complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Assist the project team in meeting client expectations and schedules.

Requirements:
  • Experience with GPS, Total Station (robotic and/or conventional), laser levels, and data collection systems is preferred.
  • Experience in Autodesk and/or MicroStation is preferred.
  • Must be willing to work in the office and in the field.
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Knowledge of standard boundary reconciliation principles is preferred.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to handle multiple project tasks.
  • Ability to work under pressure, be self-directed, and exhibit good business judgment.
  • Able to meet the physical demands of site visits in client facilities and related travel.
  • Compliance with MKEC and client drug/alcohol and safety programs.
  • Current and valid driver's license.
