CNC Laser Operator - 2nd Shift

ABC Sheet Metal / Steeldyne Industries
Anaheim, CA - Close to where the 91 and 57 meet
Full-Time | Monday–Thursday, 2:00 PM–12:30 AM
$28–$35 per hour, depending on experience


ABC Sheet Metal / Steeldyne Industries is seeking an experienced CNC Laser Operator to set up and operate fiber and CO2 laser cutting equipment. Mitsubishi laser experience is strongly preferred.


Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate fiber and CO2 laser cutting equipment.
  • Load and unload sheet metal.
  • Verify material type, thickness, work orders, travelers, and job documentation.
  • Perform nozzle changes, focus adjustments, gas selection, and cutting-condition setup.
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed.
  • Read blueprints, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Inspect parts using calipers, tape measures, and other measuring equipment.
  • Verify that completed parts meet dimensional and visual requirements.
  • Complete travelers, traceability records, and production documentation.
  • Maintain material identification and part traceability.
  • Operate overhead cranes, vacuum lifting equipment, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Perform routine operator-level preventive maintenance.
  • Follow company safety and quality procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • At least three years of laser operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience setting up and operating fiber and/or CO2 laser cutting equipment.
  • Experience with nozzle changes, focus adjustments, gas selection, and cutting conditions.
  • Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing drawings.
  • Ability to inspect parts using basic measuring equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to obtain company forklift certification.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating Mitsubishi laser systems, including ML2030D, ML3015LVP, ML3015, ML3015NX, GX-F Advanced, or similar equipment.
  • Aerospace or precision sheet metal manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with automated pallet-changing laser systems.
  • Experience working in an AS9100D-certified manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems.
  • Forklift certification.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to move heavier materials with assistance or material-handling equipment.

Schedule and Pay

  • Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 2:00 PM–12:30 AM
  • Pay: $28–$35 per hour, depending on experience
  • Four 10-hour shifts with Fridays off
